What is PALS?
PALS (Parents Actively Lending Support) is a vital part of the Franklin Academy community. PALS is made up of parent volunteers who coordinate fundraisers and FUN-raisers to support our school community and families. Funds raised by PALS support the school in a variety of ways, providing vital funding for field trips, special teacher requests, Chapel Guild, guest artist program, teacher appreciation, and so much more. PALS also supports enrichment opportunities, those sometimes small but important pieces that help our school feel like a community. Supporting PALS projects is a way that parents can have a direct impact on our children’s experience at Franklin Academy.
Who is a member?
All parents of enrolled students are automatically members of PALS. All parents are encouraged to get involved as chairs of fundraisers, or events like our annual Family Fun Night, Scholastic Book Fair, Dinner/Family Nights Out, the Jr. Ski-to-Sea Parade, and the annual TFA Auction.
What is the PALS O/C?
O/C stands for Operating Committee. This is a group of parents, teachers, and staff who make decisions about the direction of PALS. Officers and representatives for the O/C are elected annually. Meetings take place every other month, usually on a weekday evening, to review the budget and other agenda items.
